Virginia Litchfield

I joined the Burlington Community Justice Center as an AmeriCorps in the beginning of 2018 and have spent the last few years immersed in Restorative Justice in both the community and the classroom. I have been able to serve in each of our programs in my different service years which has given me a front row seat to how restorative justice is used in our community and schools to create safety and belonging, give voice to affected parties, and provide healing when harm has occurred. I am now working as a partner with the Burlington School District, and UP for Learning as we seek to reduce racial disparities in suspensions and expulsions. Outside of the Community Justice Center, I am a student of Restorative Justice at Northern Vermont University and at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. and I have a four-year-old daughter. I love sunsets over the lake and Lake Champlain beaches.
